Dr. Jeff Widmeyer, MD, is the only board-certified vascular surgeon in Lynchburg, Virginia, specializing in vein care. With over 25 years of surgical practice, Dr. Widmeyer offers his patients the very best in vein care, weight loss, and age management services at Widmeyer Optimal Wellness.
He trained at the Medical College of Virginia (Now called VCU), in Richmond, VA.
Dr. Widmeyer has successfully treated thousands of people with vascular problems, including spider veins, varicose veins, and venous stasis ulcers. He helped introduce Lynchburg to the most modern vein therapies and was the first specialist to use the high-tech EVLT procedure.
He is board-certified in Vascular Surgery, General Surgery, and Age Management/Regenerative Medicine and is a diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM).
Dr. Widmeyer has worked with World Medical Mission and has traveled to Kenya and Niger in West Africa to perform surgery in mission hospitals. He also served as a civilian volunteer vascular surgeon at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (LRMC) in Germany, treating injured soldiers from Iraq and Afghanistan.
Most recently, Dr. Widmeyer went to Puerto Rico to provide surgical services to the poor affected by Hurricane Maria. He also volunteers at the Free Clinic in Lynchburg.
An active member of his community, Dr. Widmeyer is involved in his church and enjoys the outdoors as a hunter. He is also an obstacle course racer.
